I have somewhat uderstood the rulemaking process. What I fail to understand is that since the rule to stop labor substitution is the final rule, does it mean that this rule has been implemented? Or is the next step for OMB to approve the final rule?

I might have more information than VFS. The VFS agents don't know what's happening in the consulate. The agents doesn't know more than what is already present in the VFS website.

When you join a state chapter or a group in your area, it is not necessary to conduct face-to-face meetings everyday/every week, although in person meetings wouldn't hurt. The idea is to create a channel to dissipate information through channels other than WWW. Believe it or not, there are lot many folks from anti-groups who lurk around just to keep an eye on us. Participating or becoming part of the group near to you and encourage others to do the same will also help to build/strength a group of like minded folks in the area who could then team-up to meet with local lawmakers from your area/state. We are a grass roots organization and we need to have a stronger grassroots in order to continue to be more effective. As I said earlier, this channel also is very useful to dissipate information which cannot be shared on world wide web.
Now a days when everybody has presidential election on their mind, immigration issue is not on the list of things to do for most lawmakers. As such, it takes time for the updates and the there are updates that cannot be disclosed on www. We continue to work on our issues in manner we have always worked in the past. And in the absence of Congress not taking up our immigration issues, it some how becomes our fault even though it is ok if some folks would show up from time to time and suggest that they have reasons not to join a google or a yahoo group. And all of a sudden the problem is with organization and the manner in which we work and then there is an urgent to create a �process�. Although you seem to be suggesting that you want all the ducks in the row and world peace issues sorted out before you will start accepting updates in exactly the manner in which you like to receive them. Is that correct? How about the idea of getting actively involved in your area and create an active chapter, which was your idea to begin with, and one I would agree is an excellent idea.

I am not waiting to see some success, before I join the band wagon. When you started IV a few years back, I am not sure you envisioned this many members today. Inspite of having over 25000 members, the admin fix compaign only seem to have received about 10% letters. So, What are the other members doing? Why are they not participating? what is holding them back? That is a question for everyone of us. That is something, I thought every member should reflect upon. We have around 25000 members here in IV. But, we know for a fact that there are atleast a million people waiting in line. How do we reach them and how to get them to actively participate in IV action items?

I understand that I'm trying to chose a devil/insurance, which is lesser evil compared to the rest.
So, in that aspect, Comprehensive/Fixed appears to NOT matter at all. These are just pricey nouns. I can't believe that K.V.Rao's insurance lying publicly that it's a not-for-profit. These ridiculous kinds, stoop to such a level of cheating people with a Indian name on it.
I'm still open for any recommendations here. I appreciate all your comments & suggestions so far.

I like your idea but the minimum is 50$/ month or 100$/ month.
Infact i like the idea of 5$/ month.
If 20,000 people donate 5$/ month = 1.2 million $/ year.
= 1 million $ (after loosing transaction charges)
So next step enable 5$/ month to 100$/ month RECURRING contribution arrangements ASAP.
To avoid transaction charges let users pay quarterly or half-yearly recurring.
i.e. if one wants to donate 5$/ month so it will be 30$/ 6 months etc.

USA has a right to choose who they give green card to but not fool Indian people by swinging visa bulletin by 4 years every now and then. Not by discriminating. There should be some transparency to the process and law should be followed. If USA makes a law that Indians wont get GC in EB, I am happy to note. Can they remove their gloves?

First of all I didn't understand the sentence "QUIT AMERICA MOVEMENT FOR OUR FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE". Well...Freedom or Independence for what...? Of course for Green Card. But you have to remember one thing here..."Green Card" is just one of the privilege for H1-B or Family Based. This is not your Right get from your Born country to fight for another country GC....

If you have secure permanent job with a solid Company,it is better to buy a home. I have a well secured job and I bought the house back in 2002. Home prices were less in 2002 compare to 2006.
But, if you are a consultant or working for a small company ,it may be better to wait till you get GC. But remember one thing, even if you get GC or Citizenship,if you loose your job and have a big mortgage to pay off,you will be in big trouble to make the monthly payment. This is true for even US Citizens !
But, if you are optimistic and ready to take some risk,you may be making some Good amount of profit in the future ! I was very optimistic and took some risk in 2002 and now I am in a Safer Side ! Think about it
Buying a house is a risky proposition on H1 specially considering the fact that if one is laid-off and needs to relocate within a short-time then one may end up loosing money. Besides getting into the hasseles of home maintainence is trouble-some and expensive and probably not worth the time and effort if one is uncertain about their future in this country.
Having said that if an individual is good at taking calculated risks and has a secure job then rewards are truly exceptional. I would rather wait atleast till the time of filling I-485 before making any long-term investments in this country. I know lot of my friends are probably going to do the same.

it would make our plans to go back even more certian.. A MASS EXODUS of HIGH TECH WORKERS.. is exactly what this country needs..way to go!

hightech workers and eventually it results to a exodus i'm sure they will realize the mistake at the end.
When they will see that No one is interested in this country to study and Pursue STEM ( even with scholarship) and their problem is still unresolved they probably have to spend Double the Money to bringback Indians here.
